Welcome to Dave Whiffin's Postcard Collection Gallery.

Here you will find images of Dave Whiffin's postcard collection.
Dave moved into the village from Basildon around 1974.
In the process of tracing his family history he noticed that there were several postcards for sale on Ebay about Hullbridge and thought how nice it would be to start a collection.
Todate he has amassed 82 postcards starting c1920 to 2007. Dave's collection is truely wonderful !

The images are just thumbnails of the main picture which can be accessed by simply left clicking on the relevant image.

If you recognise anyone on the postcards that has not been noted please let me know.

Hullbridge Caravan Sites.
Postcard photo taken approx., 1950's showing family members gathered

Davis Caravan Camp

The postcard photo was taken approx., 1950's . The postcard states Davis Caravan Camp. This refers to William S Davis,a builder who pioneered the first mobile home site in Hullbridge. No site was known as Davis Caravan Camp, but this is thorught to be Crouch Caravan Site which was one of the earliest in the village. Crouch Caravan Site had a fixed layout with pemranent roads around which the caravans were stationed. It is also thought the Mr Davis had early involvement with the development of Tower Caravan Site next door, which did not at first have a fixed layout.
