The Start of the club
The Pensioners Fellowship Club was formed around 1959.
It is a social club for the pensioners of Hullbridge. The club met every month in the Village Hall and during the 1960's had a membership in excess of 150 people. At the meet the club would provide members with a different form of entertainment and would hold fund raising events.
1965
The A.G.M. was held Friday 1st January and was opened by the Chairman Mr Angel. with 140 people in attendance. Those sick members unable to attend were reported as making progress.A letter was read to members from Mrs Oakman in which she told of the wonderful Xmas she had in Rochford Hospital and that she hoped to be out of bed next week. Birthday greetings were given to Mr Tuthill then the Treasurer Mr Rudlin presented his financial report and received a vote of thanks from the Chairman on behalf of the members. Entertainment was provided by The Serenaders, Bob Bennett, Doris Sparrow and Dorothy Withers on piano.
