Welcome to the Hullbridge Carnival Photo Gallery.

Here you will find my images of the Hullbridge Carnivals.
These are just thumbnails of the main picture which can be accessed by simply left clicking on the relevant image..
The Carnivals started back in 1948 with the intention to have some fun, raise funds for a local center and to unite the villagers.

If you recognise anyone in the photos that has not been noted please let me know.

Hullbridge queen visits Canvey 1954

HULLBRIDGE QUEEN VISITS CANVEY.
A branch of St George Ambulance and Nursing Corps may soon be formed at Hullbridge, and on Saturday Hullbridge Carnival Queen and her Court and Coun. E.W.Long visited a dance organised by 12th Essex (Canvey) Battalion.
About 300 people attended the event at the Bay Country Club, Canvey and danced to the music of Fred Dickens and his band.

CARNIVAL QUEEN DANCE.
Photograph courtesy of Southend Standard 8th August 1959. The newly crowned queen Pamela Beckwith and her attendant Maureen Wren in the Village Hall with their backs to the entrance. Also in the photo in middle row left are Alan Garrod with suit and tie and on his arm is Rosemary O'Daye in a revealing blouse, his future wife.At the back on the right is Harry Randolph and Terry Short.
